Clearly, he was wrong, but I am not comfortable with this new legal phrase ( I know it is not yours, you are just reporting the police account :)) "rape of a child", as it blurs the distinction between children and teens. Certainly, when I was an 8 year old girl, an involvement with a man would have been pernicious; by 15, it was an altogether different story. How many 15 year olds consider themselves children? My great-grandmother was married at 15. He should not have become involved with a minor, true: But cannot the law find an are between 'child rape' and anything goes? What are your own views?

Yes, he took advantage; I guess I was never viewed as a child at 14 or 15, so it is all new to me. He was in the wrong, but it should be called "adolescent rape".

I must agree with the majority of you that state the wrongness of this mans actions towards this young female who he was in a teachers position (in all ways)! But i can't leave without stating this.....have any of you men seen how some 15 year old's are developed as well as there makeup/dressing choices etc. I can see were a man could go to "the dark side" ....may the force be with him ...for at least two years!
