SJ Earthquakes Goalie David Bingham Scores in MLS Debut

David Bingham, the San Jose Earthquakes' new player, scored during his debut against visiting Premiership team West Bromwich Albion.

David Bingham is the Earthquakes' goalie. He was about to throw the ball back into play during the third minute of the game, but thought better of it. Instead, Bingham took a 90-yard kick, intending a pass to Scott Sealy.

However, Bingham went a little too big, bouncing the ball over WBA keeper Boaz Myhill's head and into the net. David Bingham later told the SJ Mercury News, ""I just over-hit it and got lucky. Sometimes it's good to be lucky."

The Quakes ended up beating West Brom 2-1.

Watch David Bingham's awesome trans-pitch goal below, and remember: the 2011 Women's World Cup final is on July 17.
