David Wright is back in action with the New York Mets... and he's bringing his giant Rawlings S100 helmet with him. David Wright's helmet is considerably bigger than the average batter's headgear, but it's meant to keep him safer. It makes David Wright look like a little-league player, but apparently he doesn't mind getting teased. After all, the video of David Wright's concussion made headlines, too.

NJ.com already made the expected Dark Helmet comparison, so we don't have to. Several adjectives are emerging for David Wright's helmet: aside from "large", "huge" and "weird", we're also hearing "ridiculous".

The other players didn't even need to say anything. As soon as David Wright walked anywhere near his teammates or Rockies players Tuesday, he could see it in their faces. "They just started laughing at me," Wright said.

David Wright struck out twice, throwing his giant-sized helmet both times. The Rockies schooled the Mets, 8-3.

“I didn’t stay in there for long,” Wright said, laughing.
