A day which all Indian will try to forget. A Day which started good for them but some bad umpiring and excllent hundred from Andrew Symonds poved worse for Indian Team. With Australia 134-6 India would have been thinking to end the day with finishing Australia less than 200. But 173 runs Seven-wicket Partnership by Symonds and Hogg put Australia on the driving seat and will be targeting for score above 400 plus.
Ricky pointing Luck again stike backs for the toss and decided to bat first. Soon his decision was turning wrong for them.RP Singh taking the front charge as Zaheer Khan ruled out of the second Test due to injury occured during Practice , got Jaques in the 3 rd over. Jaques was caught by Dhoni on bouncer by RP singh.
6 overs after the first shock , Australia got another setback. Hayden who was marvelous in first test gave a simple catch to Sachin who was in slip on RP Singh good bowling. After that Ricky Pointing and Hussey took the charge and added 92 runs for the Third Wicket.Ricky Pointing got a bit lucky and scored a good 50 on the board . But he wasnt able to continuw his luck further. Almost compensating for the dismissals he had failed to give earlier Benson handed Harbhajan a favourable lbw verdict when the ball had come off a thick inside edge and Pointing was sent to Pavilion .
Soon Hussey also lost his concentration and opened the face of his bat a bit too much to RP and Tendulkartoke a good catch at first slip.Michael Clarke, One of the better players of Australia , gave his wicket to Harbhajan singh as he wasnt able to judge the Harbhajan bowling and was given lbw.
Adam Gilchrist gave Sachin- RP Singh combination another success as he got caught by Sachin on superb bowling by RP SOngh and Australia was trembling on 134 for 6 wickets.
But this celebration wasnt able to continue more for Indians. Symonds and Hogg both were confident on themself and was taking Indian attack with ease. Indian luck was going down after some doubtful Umpiring by the umpires . swirling catches eluding flat-footed fielders and thick edges escaping the hearing of the umpires as a strong Wednesday crowd got behind Symonds and Hogg and cheered the revival.
Symonds was confident on his batting , who got 3 chances gave by the umpires and it was looking like that umpires was in mood not to give out to Symonds. He soon looking pleased and scored a marvelous 100 soon. Hogg too joined the party and scored 79 runs. His highest score in test matches.
The Symonds-Hogg partnership crushed to 173, the Australian total gone past 300 but Kumble got in the way of both and Hogg Innnings stoped at last as he gave catch to Dravid. Then came Brett lee who looking pretty good with bat too and helped Symonds to finish the day's play with 376 runs on board and with 3 wickets left.
The day which would have ended good for Indians got worse for them. Its due to their inability to wrao the last wickets of Australia and also due to bad umpiring .
Day 2 Planning: India will think to wrap up the remaining Australian wicket in 1st hour of play and reduce them to 400- 420 runs only. Wherease Australia will think To score more 100 plus and give India a huge setback.
Sad News for India:
Zaheer khan will not be able to play next two moth as his injury is serious and Doctors told him to take 2 month rets. VRV Singh is going to Australia to replace Zaheer khan

Thank you for your review over Day 1 plays. I agreed to you Umpiring really today was bad and I feel Steve Buknor shouldnt allowed to do umpiring in the matches India. He gives many wrong decision against India only. India might recover on day 2 . This match will be exciting one. so I am crossing my finger for 2nd day plays.

ICC need to reform their rules for Umpires. And they need to use third umpire for catches too.. If the 3 umpires convinced, then only they will gave out.
See today match turned because of worst umpiring
