Was mentioned on air that if Sammy went off the field for any reason, it would be Baugh leading the side. Bit surprising because in this team (given Sarwan/Chanderpaul’s abstinence), the next in line seemed like Simmons. You often see him and Sammy discussing ideas. Not a big deal, just saying in terms of future captaincy – if he can cement his place as opener, Lendl seems like someone who could be a good captain.

Things now in place for Samuels and Chanderpaul. Looking at the manner in which the Indian total was achieved, all WI need is one decent partnership. It’s always amazing in any game of cricket, how a total of 200 can be achieved with just one partnership, even if everyone else falls away. Sarwan could be the one though at the centre of it – relative to his recent run, he looked quite good last evening.
