How about uploading some of the youtube videos to Nowpublic or even adding some of your own content, otherwise you are just using material from Cricinfo to promote a site other than Cricinfo.
at 11:49 on April 13th, 2008
Yeah, but all the CricInfo material has links to cricinfo website and in that material there are atleast 100-200 linsk to cricinfo compared to one link going to my site. I don't know what your problem is ...
at 11:51 on April 13th, 2008
I feel that as the headline says highlights perhaps there should be some highlights here on NP, I accept there are loads of links to Cricinfo. Perhaps they should be asked if they want their work used in this way to advertise highlights on another site.
at 11:58 on April 13th, 2008
No, i do not agree to that. I do not want to flood nowpublic with all the highlights and moreover nowpublic is to tell your story and it's not necessary to embed your whole story content...ok.
at 12:03 on April 13th, 2008
It appears you've added some context, which is good.
Have you checked out The Newsroom? That might help you understand some of the basics.
NowPublic members will strive to avoid:
1. Stories or comments that deliberately obscure your vested interests. By being transparent and acknowledging a financial interest, or by disclosing a bias in your views, you help others to understand where you care coming from.
2. Plagiarizing the work of others, failing to acknowledge source material, or using images that belong to others without their permission. It's a fundamental aspect of integrity that we all understand. It's not very complicated.
What is 'news' at NowPublic?
At NowPublic, we have a very simple definition of news: "News is new information on current events." In our experience that's what people look for when they're looking for news - whether they're buying a paper or searching the web. Your news will likely fit into one of three kinds of story:
As the Blogger's Guide explains, there's a way to share news with Now Public and also share your blog or website, and gain visitors.
But there's a need to avoid using others' copyrighted material, or using NP as simply a link library to drive visitors to a for-profit site. In short, Now Public really isn't an advertising sign, to put it simply.
The Newsroom has excellent resources.

OK agree ... i might take note of all those guidelines carefully from the next post onwards and make sure i do not violate any of the nowpublic guidelines but can you please tell me why there's nothing being commented like this for other stories like this one:
http://www.nowpublic.com/sports/day-3-3rd-test-india-vs-south-africa-kanpur-full-highlights
I guess, they are not even having enough content and just providing links which is in direct contrast to this guiideline of yours:
But there's a need to avoid using others' copyrighted material, or using NP as simply a link library to drive visitors to a for-profit site. In short, Now Public really isn't an advertising sign, to put it simply."
Thank

Thank you for hearing us.
As for other contributors, many have been flagged or have had comments before. As to why they havne't today, I don't know. I personally can only do so much at the same time.
My suggestion to you is to not focus on what's going on with others, but to focus on your material. That's what is really important to you, right?
Cheers!

ok thanks PEP ... we will make sure we put all efforts to follow every guideline in future...thanks

Thank you. Now, if I could only understand cricket--I'd like to!
