The Derrick Roland Video is painful to watch- I'll just say that right now. Texas A&M's Derrick Roland suffered a broken leg early in the second half of last night's game against University of Washington, when Derrick Roland went up for a shot and landed wrong, breaking both the fibula and tibia in his right leg.
Derrick Roland was immediately taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he underwent surgery to have a steel rod put into his leg. Aggies coadch Mark Turgeon says that Derrick Roland pulled through okay. As Derrick Roalnd will have to stay in Seattle through Christmas due to his leg injury, Texas A&M is looking to bring his family over from Dallas, Texas to see him.
"It went well and he is doing well," Turgeon said in a text message. "Tough kid."
The injury to Derrick Roland in the video is hard to watch because the camera men and announcers for the game weren't even sure what they were looking at immediately following the injury.
UW beat the Aggies 73-64.

Ankle injuries are never fun to go through or watch. I wish Roland a speedy recovery and hope he's able to do get back to playing basketball at the level he was playing at before.

I actual was 5 ft from Derrick when his leg snapped. I loaded some of the shots to my website. Caution these are hard to look at.www.photoshelter.com/c/jessebeals/gallery/Texas-Vs-UW-12-22-09/G0000DqZFzIp9Gl8/P0000DUyk96FD1zM
