Monday night at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, Bryant took the offensive players out, then Williams invited the defensive players and when the night was over the bill came: $54,896.
"They got the young fella," said Bryant's adviser David Wells. "What could he say? He had to pay it unless he wanted to wash dishes for a month."
Players ordered basically everything on the menu and even took home bottles of wine.
The whole incident was trigger during training camp when the rookie Dez Bryant refused to carry the pads of the veteran Roy Williams - such menial tasks are a tradition in the NFL and Bryant refused to participate, something he latter apologized for.
The Pappas Bros. Steakhouse dinner was part of that atonement.
Assuming 50 players and coaches attended the Dez Bryant dinner, that works out to roughly a $1,000 person.
Consider this, the Pappas Bros. Porterhouse steak - the most expensive steak on the menu is a 25 oz and comes in at $44.95 - that is a lot of food.
Dez Bryant can afford it though, the rookie's contract with the Dallas Cowboys is not shabby, his salary...
...guarantees him at least $8.3 million. His base salary this season is $320,000, but he got a $1.95 million signing bonus and gets another $570,000 roster bonus during camp.
