Diana Taurasi, leading scorer for the Phoenix Mercury and WNBA all-star game favorite, was stopped by police on suspicion of DUI  in Phoenix on Wednesday evening.

Diana Taurasi's blood alcohol level was not released, but "cited and released" could mean that she was cited for reckless driving, and not DUI.

Phoenix police spokesman Luis Samudio said an officer stopped Taurasi near 7th Avenue and Camelback Road at about 2:30 Thursday.

"After completing the initial investigation, Ms. Taurasi was...released to friends," said Samudio.

Taurasi is expected to play in in the Mercury's next game against the LA Sparks.
