Did Dwyane Wade 3-Point Celebration Spur Mavs Game 2 Win? Video
Did Dwyane Wade's Celebration After a Three-Point Play Inspire The Dallas Mavericks To Win Game 2 of the 2011 NBA Finals? Here's the Video
The Dallas Mavericks won Game 2 of the 2011 NBA Finals in dramatic fashion and many think they have Dwyane Wade to thank for it.
According to some, the Dallas Mavericks furious fourth quarter comeback on June 2, 2011 may have been inspired by a premature Dwyane Wade celebration.
The Dwyane Wade 'celebration' came with 7:20 left in the fourth quarter of Game 2. LeBron James and Mario Chalmers helped set up Dwyane Wade, who knocked down a three-pointer in the corner right by the Mavs bench. Wade kept his arms in the air after hitting the shot and some Mavs players thought he was rubbing it in.
The Mavs then went on a tear, erasing a double-digit lead for their first win of the series.
"He celebrated in front of our bench," Tyson Chandler said. "I think it angered a lot of us. We came out there and responded."
Mavs star Dirk Nowitzki downplayed the celebration, saying that he didn't even really see Wade's reaction after hitting the three-pointer.
Some have noted that some Mavs players have been known for being overly exuberant. DeShawn Stevenson has been known to celebrate his three-pointers much like Wade.
Was the Dwyane Wade three-point celebration over the line or are people just picking on a team that has been described as "Hollywood as Hell"? Check out the Dwyane Wade three-point celebration video and judge for yourself. Bonus points if you can actually make sense of whatever the heck ABC's Mark Jackson is talking about.
