Donald Trump Buys WWE Monday Night Raw
McMahon sold the WWE Raw franchise to Trump despite his personal misgivings about Trump himself. No doubt, McMahon will not be happy not that Donald Trump owns Raw.
Trump appeared on the big screen during the WWE Raw broadcast and announced that one of his first actions of new WWE Raw owner was to make the next Raw broadcast commercial-free.
This isn't Trump's first appearance with the WWE, having been a part of WrestleMania 23. During the pay-per-view extravaganza, Trump took part in the Battle of the Billionaires, where Trump's fighter Bobby Lashley took on McMahon protege Umaga. Stone Cold Austin served as the referee. Lashley ended up winning the fight; afterward Trump and Lashley shaved McMahon's head. Austin then performed a Stone Cold Stunner on Trump.
For our money though, Trump's strongest connection to the squared circle is that he seems to have based much of public persona on former WWE legend Ted DiBiase aka The Million Dollar Man. The dishevelled patch of hair on Trump's head is also oddly reminiscent of George "The Animal" Steele's back.

My first two guesses of the buyer was either the Donald or Ted Turner, guess i was half right,i really think that it is a story line,r ember after wcw was gone and flair appeared on raw and said he owns it ,then a few weeks later vince fought him in a match and vince won. Some thing simular to that, vince is a genious. And Vince tna wrestling is the next wcw i predict the monday night wars will start again.

It's not a storyline that's what Mr. McMahon wants us WWE fans to think but it's really not a storyline. I love Monday Night Raw and just to hear that Donald Trump brought Raw last night or over the weekend shears me apart just because The Donald is well known.

I am disappoinet to see the Raw was sold. i really loved the drama that McMahon family brought to the RAW. I don;t like the ego of Donald Trumph. i think will stop watching Raw as many else would do, Smackdon is not so fun as Raw because Mchanon's rarely appear in the show, he should have sold Smackdown instead of Raw

Until i see a formal contract i do not fully believe that this is 4 real. I think we all remember the publicity stunts that McMahon has pulled in the past. (ex. exploding limo) However if it is 4 real, i for one am pleased that McMahon is no longer in charge of raw. The show has become extremely predictable, boring, and lacks talent. Also, im tired of seein john cena and triple H. I would much rather see evan bourne, MVP, John Morrison, or Kofi KIngston in the main event.
PS: Finlay is ruined. (used to be one of my favorites until he came out with a midget and no moves)

I think it's a storyline , because i would think Vince McMahon would keep the business in the family. Besides he brought raw and the rest of wwe from nothing just samll house shows to selling out around the world....It wouldn't be the same without the Vince and the McMahon family.....

well i personally want to see some proof or something to this really taking place and if raw was an idependent cooporation now wouldnt Trump change the name from wwe and no longer be part of smackdown and ecw? also what does Mr Mcmahon do really he pays everyone else to do his jobs and earn loads form the business so why would he need to sell it and if Vince gets bored or needs to retire then Shane will take it over. Anyway i think it will be some build up to a PPV maybe Summerslam? and all of this will come to an end and Vince will have Raw back.
But on the other hand if Raw has been bought and taken over by Trump for good then its something we are going to have to live with no matter how much we hate him or perhaps like him, all hes going to do to be honest is just try and make ratings increase and make the programmae more interesting although WWE is the best thing in the world soo....i just wouldn't worry about this.

It is just another storyline to increase their TRP ratings. For the last 2 years Raw often had same pattern repeated,to spice up things vince perhaps has planned to bring a new ownership angle. This would probably last till wrestlemania 26.Till then Raw will see a major impact because of Donald Trumps involvement.Trump is just working with vince on a contract and there is no way Vince selling the oldest brand of WWE.Trump being the owner and creator of several reality shows would be working as creative director for this angle.
Hope to see SHOCKERS.....

USA clarifies WWE-Trump sale remarks
NEW YORK, June 18 (UPI) -- The USA Network Thursday apologized for confusing statements it made regarding the fictional sale of its "WWE Monday Night RAW" program to Donald Trump.
"USA Network and WWE issued a press release on June 16 that referred to 'Monday Night RAW's' storyline of a 'sale' of 'WWE's RAW' to Donald Trump," the network said in a statement.
"We intended the release to be promotional for that ongoing story arc on the series. There is no such actual 'sale.' We apologize for any confusion."

Well the way I see it is that if it was true, then it would be all over the news channels and entertainment tonight etc. Anytime something has officially gone down such as the Benoit situation, it has been all over the news! So I say False!

This is the funniest group of comments ever. Anyone actually debating whether this was an actual "sale" of Raw to Trump has to have had vodka for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Did any of you really beleve the Undertaker came back from the dead? Anyway thanks for making me laugh by believing and debating this, made me laugh out loud. Oh and this will suck as a story line, just as almost all of them have since 2001.

If you listened carefully, it said this news was reported EXCLUSIVELY on WWE.COM. If it had relly happened, it would of been reported PUBLICLY on all kinds of media. So Walla.........it's another STORYLINE.

Ha Ha this is pure BS. But I think the fact we are discussing it means WWE accomplished their goal by pulling this gimmick. I think Vince called in a favor and Trump is probably financing the commercial free episode - but that's about it.

Hey I'm all for it if Donald has more of the women wrestling on the show. The show is called "Raw". Let the women handle it and send the men to Smackdown.
