Dre Bly Fumble Video: 49er Botches Interception Against Falcons

Dre Bly messed up and he's willing to admit it. Yesterday, the San Francisco 49ers cornerback intercepted a ball and fumbled the ball on the runback after a bit of apparent showboating. The Dre Bly fumble was so egregious that the Pro Bowler apologized for it a day after the game.

"It was totally inappropriate," Bly said. "I want to come to y'all and publicly apologize for yesterday. I like to have fun. I got caught up in the moment. It was wrong. I went to coach (Singletary) and apologized. After looking at things last night, it was wrong.

So what exactly happened during the Dre Bly fumble? Bly picked off a pass thrown by Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan intended for wideout Roddy White. As Bly was running the interception back, he began showboating, putting one hand behind his helmet as he ran down the field. White managed to catch up to Bly and knocked the ball out of his hand.

"I played the game 11 years, played it well. I like to have fun. I'm a happy guy. It was the fumble, that was the worst part, giving the ball back to the offense. I should have been smarter. I'm a veteran guy. It was a poor choice by me at that time."
