Dwight Freeney, a defensive end for the Indianapolis Colts, has suffered a nasty ankle injury, and his sprained ankle is swollen and painful, but he says he may still play on Sunday in the Super Bowl XLIV

Today was media day for the Super Bowl, and Freeney spoke about how he might have an injection in his foot to reduce the swelling and allow him to play.

"I've yet to really think about it to be honest," Freeney said. "I guess that's a conversation me and the doctors are going to have on Saturday ... whether it's even safe to do so."

However, even if he does have the injection, his range of movement may be so limited, he may risk suffering more damage. So far he has been using techinques such as icing the ankle to a hyperbaric chamber.

"The ankle's pretty much day to day," he said. "Hopefully toward the end of the week it starts to get better."

Dwight Freeney wants desperately to get on that field, but says he will allow his doctors to make the final decision.
