Bruin Football: Brunch Day Two

The Eagle Bank Bowl will be featuring the UCLA Bruins and Temple Owls this afternoon in Washington D.C.  The two teams will face off to become the second winner of the Bowl.

The EagleBank Bowl's focus is to recognize the dedication from all those who serve the United States.

The Game was intended by Navy to be a match between teams that serve the country such as the U.S. military academies and the U.S. armed forces but the NCAA required that the Bowl meet the nation standard and that academy football teams could not meet a 6-6 record then a team with a better record must replace them.

That is how the UCLA Bruins and the Templeton Owls ended up playing in the EagleBank Bowl

For betting the odds are:

  • UCLA -5 -20 Over 46
  • Temple Owls +5 +165 Under 46

UCLA earned its berth in the Eagle Bank Bowl because Army failed lost their final game of the season long time rival Navy. The NCAA requires teams to finish with at least a 6-6 record to become bowl eligible.

The Bruins will face the Bill Cosby’s alma mater the Temple Owls. The Owl gained their first college bowl berth in 30 years on the strength of a 9-3 record (8-3 against the spread). Mr. Cosby has received a lot of laughs over the years at the expense of his beloved Owls but this year’s squad is no joke.
