FLY EAGLES FLY

With the Philadelphia Eagles on their way to the NFC Championship game, there will be at least one more week to listen to "Fly Eagles Fly", the Eagles long-time fight song.

The music and lyrics to "Fly Eagles Fly" was reportedly written by the daughter of former Eagles owner Jerry Wolman. Wolman's daughter reportedly patterned the songs after the Washington Redskins fight song.

After Wolman sold the team and the team moved to Veterans Stadium, the song fell out of use. Current Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie decided to revive the song when he bought the team in 1994. Lurie insisted that the song be played over the stadium's PA system every time the Eagles scored a touchdown. Since then, the song has become a staple at Eagles games and other Philadelphia sporting events.

The current Eagles Fight Song lyrics are:

Fly Eagles Fly

On the road to victory

Fight Eagles Fight

Score a touchdown 1,2,3

Hit'em low. Hit'em high.

And watch our eagles fly.

Fly Eagles Fly.

On the road to victory.

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!
