Eddie Vedder has penned a new song dedicated to the Chicago Cubs. Although he's been long associated with the city of Seattle, Vedder is originally from Illinois and is a huge fan of the Cubs, a team that has gone 100 years without winning a World Series.

The song, titled "Someday We'll Go All the Way", can be heard here.

Vedder and his band have often associated themselves with sports. Before changing their name to Pearl Jam, the band was originally known as Mookie Blaylock, named after a former NBA player. The group named its smash debut album "Ten" after Blaylock's uniform  number.

Vedder was often seen courtside of Seattle Supersonics and later struck up a friendship with former NBA player Dennis Rodman.
