Eliza Kruger Tells Deadspin of Affair with Mark Sanchez

So the rumor is apparently true: NY Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez hooked up with a 17-year-old girl named Eliza Kruger. We mentioned the brewings of the "Mark Sanchez 17-year-old girlfriend" story before, but Deadspin revealed how the story came about.

Eliza Kruger contacted Deadspin in order to tell her version of the story, before she lost control of it to the tabloids. Note that Mark Sanchez is 24 years old; it's not illegal for him to have an affair with a 17 year old as long as both are in consent, which was the case.

Eliza Kruger and Mark Sanchez met at a New York City nightclub, which Kruger and her friends blagged their way into. Kruger says that she was upfront with Sanchez about her age from the beginning. They exchanged numbers. They hooked up. Eliza Kruger sent photographic proof, but nothing NSFW.

After the on-the-record exchange with Deadspin, the nastygram

"Yeah," she said, somewhat reluctantly. "We went back to his place in Jersey after dinner. He lives on a golf course. There was a big storm."

Thundersnow, I suspect. I told her I'd make sure it's legal in Jersey for a girl her age to hook up with a 24-year-old man.

"It is. It's 16," she said. "I checked."
