Elizabeth Moreau, an ESPNU Reporter Was Pranked By a Caller to Her Hotel Room Claiming to be Her Husband

Elizabeth Moreau was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Gainesville Florida when someone called her hotel room on Thursday morning and told her to break the windows because the hotel was on fire.

According to The Smoking Gun, the person had told the front desk clerk that they were Moreau's husband and they proceeded to tell Moreau that she needed to lay down towels at the bottom of her front door to stop the smoke from coming in. Then they told her to use the toilet seat cover to break the window.

She then went to the window and used it to break out the window. The window was broken and the toilet lid broke upon falling to the ground outside,” police reported. It is unknown who was responsible for today’s hoax, which cops have classified a "suspicious incident."

After Moreau realized it was a prank, the caller reportedly told her "that's what you get for being a bad ex-wife" and proceeded to tell her she was bad at 'sucking d*ck'.

According to the Gainesville police report, the phone call came in at about 12:20am and eventually Ms. Moreau was transferred to a different room. She has been the victim of stalking before, but that offender is currently in prison.
