England will face South Africa in the Rugby World Cup final after the Springboks pushed aside Argentina in tonight's semi-final in Paris.

South Africa - who beat the South American side 37-13 - are hot favourites to topple England next Saturday.

England received a 36-0 drubbing at the hands of the Springboks in their opening match - but now have the chance to convert their Sweet Chariot chants into sweet revenge next week.

England 14 France 9   Full Time England Win.

England are in a second consecutive Rugby World Cup final after beating France 14-9 in the eagerly-awaited Le Crunch battle in Paris.

England drew first blood with a try from Josh Lewsey, but France fought back with three penalty goals from Lionel Beauxis to make it 9-5 in the closely-fought contest.

Wilkinson's first successful kick of the night then narrowed the gap to make it 9-8. He then kicked two more to make it 14-9 to England.

There were jubilant scenes in Paris as the 40,000 England fans who had invaded the French capital sang themselves hoarse with delight.

England back in lead. 2 minutes to go.

England hit post. (58 minutes)

England have penalty Wilkinson scores.

France increase their lead.

Poor kicking lets down England in the first half.

Dream start for England scoring a try within the first 2 minutes.

Thousands of England fans are arriving in France for the World Cup rugby semi-final with France, the match kicks off at 8.00pm today.

I will be watching the match live on ITV's live coverage and will post score updates on this story as they come in.

The English invasion of Paris is continuing today with up to 30,000 more people arriving in the city ahead of the semi-final World Cup rugby clash with hosts France.
It began last night as busy Eurostar trains transported a growing band of England supporters into France, many with tickets and many without.
"As long as we've got Jonny (Wilkinson), we'll do it," one woman in an England shirt said on the platform.
Another added: "We'll beat the French here on their own patch. Come on!"
The Eurostar trains will work overtime throughout the day to ensure the supporters reach Paris before the 8pm kick-off.

vinny1, good stuff. Gooooooooo England! (I'm still mad over Calais, actually.)

Vinny

Calais is great we get cheap cigarettes and booze from there on day trips.

This is awesome. I'm relying on this page rather than any other source... no pressure, though!

AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! (Sorry, my prior residency is showing itself. Also, I'd feel awful if, after beating Australia, England then lost to France)

Vinny

I too must confess a small amount of bias on this but will let you guess who I was hoping would win.

Hmm... SA spanked England in their first match this tournament...
