It was a fairly comfortable win in the end for England, who go back to the top of one-day international rankings ahead of South Africa and tie the series up at 1-1. The run chase was a little slow at times, but with a relatively low target, that didn't matter - and the hosts never needed more than five runs an over. England were grateful to man-of-the-match Eoin Morgan - who blasted 73 off 67 balls - and Jonathan Trott, who hit nearly 150 runs between them, and some tight bowling from Ravi Bopara, Jade Dernbach and Jimmy Anderson. Wayne Parnell was South Africa's standout performer, conceding just 23 runs from his 10 overs and snaring Trott.
