Her agent Chase Callahan released a statement saying:

"We are devastated to learn of the passing of Erica Blasberg. To most of the world, Erica was known as a professional golfer, but she was more than that. She was a loving daughter to her parents and a compassionate and loyal friend," said a statement from Callahan. "Erica had a good heart, was extremely kind and very thankful for what she had in her life.

Erica Blasberg only played in one LPGA event, where she tied for 44th, but she had a lot of success in college, where she won six times in two years for the University of Arizona.

She won Golfweek's 2003 Player of the Year and was also named the 2003 NGCA Freshman of the Year and a Pac-10 Player of the Year.

She turned professional in 2004 and qualified for the LPGA in 2005.

Blasberg struggled on the LPGA, never finishing higher than 94th on the money list. Her career-low 64 on the LPGA came at the Welch's/Fry's Championship, back when she competed as an amateur on a sponsor exemption.
