Erika Clark: Like Father, Like Daughter
Athens, GA (Sept 21, 2007) - Your father is four-time Major League Baseball All-Star. Playing in the big leagues for 18 years, his most famous hit is a 3-run 9th inning home run to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 1985 National League Pennant. Oh, and his nickname is "Jack the Ripper".
For many people, it might be difficult to find your own place in the shadow of a father who had such an impact in sports. This has not been a problem for 18-year old Erika Clark, daughter of Jack Clark. As a freshman the 5-9 psychology major playing as a starter for the University of Georgia Women's Volleyball Team, her impact has already been felt. Coming to UGA with the stated goal of helping to "rebuild the program".
As a High School Student at Centennial High School in Frisco, Texas, the four sport athlete was named first team All-State. Since joining the Georgia Squad, she was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on August 27. An outside hitter (OH), Clark is 3rd on the team with 118 kills. With this start, she may earn her own nickname when her collegiate career is over.
