The commentators were sure and even the Dutch players admitted they got lucky with the Holland’s opening goal from Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy. But, in law, it seems the Swedish assistant referee made a fantastic decision.

Of course not. There was a defender behind the line and because he was not officially injured he was still in play.


Tonight the Dutch "Orange" team is playing agianst Frances, Les Blues. In the Netherlands is a lot of discussion about the best system for that game. Coach Marco van Basten switched some months ago to 4-2-3-1 system. That system was good enough for the tremendous victory over Italy and to set the Ducth on top of Group C


Some experts say we should change that to 4-1-1-3-1 or even to 4-1-1-2-2. In my openion Marco should stay with 4-3-2-1 or go to 4-5-1. More about all these systems.


One thing is sure: best system to beat the French is to attack. In Dutch: Aanvalluh !
