A big loss in terms of talent for Leeds, but this is a great injection of cash for them, just hope they can spend it wisely and get Leeds back up a division at least. If he does well at Villa he'll probably get sold for 3 times the price.

Aston Villa have completed the signing of Fabian Delph from Leeds United.

The highly-rated 19-year-old agreed terms and passed a medical on Tuesday, according to a statement on Villa's official website.

The fee is undisclosed, but it is rumoured that Leeds could earn up to £8m from the deal.

The midfielder, who made his England Under-21 debut last year, rose through the ranks at Elland Road and was a regular for United last season.

He signed a new four-year deal with Leeds in September last year, but continued to attract interest from Premier League clubs.

Manchester City admitted their interest in the player while Everton were also thought to be interested.

A Leeds statement said: "Leeds United wish to place on record our appreciation for the honourable manner in which Aston Villa have conducted their interest in the player.

"The club has resisted approaches from other FA Premier League clubs since agreeing terms with Aston Villa.
