Fake Timothy Bradley: 'I'll Give Manny Pacquiao's Belt Back'
Did Timothy Bradley Really Offer to Return Manny Pacquiao's Belt? Don't Be Ridiculous
A fake Timothy Bradley Facebook page featured a post offering to return the WBO welterweight championship belt to Manny Pacquiao after the
insane controversial split decision that decided the June 9 fight.
Then a funny, yet predictable, thing happened: people believed that the real Timothy Bradley was offering to give his belt back to the real Manny Pacquiao.
Fake Timothy Bradley wrote, "After reviewing the tape over 10 times, and listening to what all my fans and haters had to say about the fight. I have made a decision. I shall return this belt to its true, rightful owner.I shall release this information to the press and media shortly.. Please stay safe guys[.]"
Come on, guys. Really? You're going to swallow this? It's so obviously fake.
We could point to the fact that the page only appeared after the fight, and that it links to a sketchy and probably fake promoter, but let's go with Occam's razor: no way in Hell would a newly-minted boxing champion just give away the belt for which he sacrificed his light welterweight title (refusing to fight Amir Khan in case he lost), regardless of the nature of the decision that gave him that belt. Duh.
Meanwhile, the real Timothy Bradley is up for a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, because, well, he surely knows the decision was bogus. Meanwhile, the WBO will review the Bradley-Pacquiao decision.
