This week in the NFL has proven to be a boon to NFL betting fans. So far, NFL Pre-season games don’t feel like NFL Pre-season games. I mean, every game so far has provided a terrific opportunity for online football betting fans to pad their bank rolls for this upcoming NFL Season.
Already the movers and shakers this season have sort of separated themselves from the has-beens. The Colts, Chargers, Cowboys, Steelers and Saints have all looked pretty good so far. Some teams have looked as if they are ready to make the jump to the next level. Two of those teams, the Washington Redskins and New York Jets, look like they might challenge for the conference title.
Speaking of the ‘Skins and the Jets, they take the field against each other this Saturday with Brett Favre getting the nod as starter for New York. This is a key game for online sportsbook betting fans to watch as the Jets are loaded on the offensive line and have a much better defense than last season. If Favre improves this team at all, then I like them to upset the AFC East juggernaut that is the New England Patriots. I can’t write that enough in these articles!
The reason I keep writing it is because the online odds on the Jets are awesome. They are still an overlay in almost every future book online wager that is offering. NFL betting fans had better step it up and put some dollars on this team before they start the season out 4 and 0. Yes, they do play the New England Patriots and the San Diego Chargers in two of those four games and winning won’t be easy. But if the Jets do upset the Patriots and the Chargers then who suddenly becomes the favorite to win the Super Bowl? The Jets! So, take those online sportsbook odds of + 3500 right now…just in case…
I haven’t noticed any Tony Romo/Jessica Simpson sightings this past week. Maybe, I haven’t been looking hard enough. For Dallas Cowboy fans, that’s a good thing. Romo has all of the ability in the world, but Brett Favre, whom everybody compares Tony R. to, never pranced around the country dating a flighty, anti-Amy Winehouse, boring blonde like Jessica Simpson. I bring it up because as a football betting fan, I would literally downgrade, and have downgraded, the Cowboys’ chances of winning week to week depending on what Tony does with Jessica.
Yes, that’s important. The NFL is a tough business. You need to keep your eye on the balls and protect yours from know nothing pop singers. Take heed, Tony R., take heed.
I’m feeling Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. Make no mistake, the chances of this team challenging the Saints, Bucs or Panthers in the NFC South is minimal, but the Falcons are a good online bet to win more than 4 ½ games. The online betting odds at – 150 is actually a very good wager. Yes, football betting fans will have to put up an extra 50 bucks, but with Ryan calling the shots, I do believe this team can get it done. Atlanta should come out next week after their pre-season game against Colts and announce that Ryan is the starter. I mean, the rest of the quarterbacks on this team are terrible.
Let the rookie get it done!
Finally, my biggest observation is in regards to the much hyped rookie running back in Oakland, Darren McFadden. McFadden is already my pick for rookie of the year. The online sportsbook wagering odds on McFadden are + 350.
McFadden was sensational in his first NFL Pre-season game. It was how unflashy he actually looked that impressed me. He doesn’t have to outrun tacklers like Reggie Bush. He’s patient. The kid sees the openings and has the speed to get through them. I also noticed how wraps the ball-up before taking the hit. To me, that’s a sign that the rookie has been doing his homework this off-season.
Expect a 1,000 yard season out of McFadden if he stays healthy.
Until next week, good luck!
