FC Barcelona captain Carles Puyol dislocates arm
It was a tough game last in Lisbon for FC Barcelona and although the Catalan giants won the match by a convincing 2 goals to nil, the clash left a sour note on the match as captain Carles Puyol, who's just back from a cheek-bone fracture injury, ended up writhing on the ground with a dislocated elbow.
With 15 minutes to go before the final whistle, Puyol came charging in with a header but fell badly onto his back with his left arm trapped underneath. The images were quite shocking and after being attended on the field by the medics, Puyol was stretchered off to a standing ovation by the Benfica supporters.
Barca now meet Celtic in their next match to see who goes top of the group. Barcelona defender Sergio Busquets will also miss the Celtic match after picking up a red card for aggression.
It looks like Carles Puyol will be out of action for at least 6 weeks.
