Final Four Weekend Marks 65-Days Until the NBA Turns 65, 6-6-11

The 2011 NCAA Final Four held this Saturday on April 2nd at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX will have all the eyes of the basketball world on it as it prepares for one of the most viewed annual sporting events in American history.

April 3rd the day after both Final Four games and the day before the NCAA Championship game will also mark 65-days until the NBA turns 65 on June 6, 2011. The most well-known basketball league on the planet will be reach retirement-age.

The NBA was founded on June 6, 1946 in New York City as a 11-team league that was originally known as BAA (Basketball Association of America). They changed the league name to NBA in 1949 when the BAA merged with the rival NBL (National Basketball League).

February 22, 2011 the day after President's Day also marked the "100-Day Countdown" until the start of NBHHCM (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month) 2K11. NBHHCM was first proclaimed in June 2009. 

The "100-Day Countdown" was created by Dunkadelic Sports Marketing to create awareness and interest for the NBA celebrating its 65th Anniversary date during the month June.

There is also another significant anniversary date during NBHHCM 2K11 the 35th Anniversary of the NBA/ABA merger that was announced on June 17, 1976. The NBA/ABA merger allowed the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, New York (New Jersey) Nets, and San Antonio Spurs to become NBA franchises. 

June 17, 2011 will mark the 35th Anniversary of the historic merger. 

The "100-Day Countdown" to NBHHCM 2K11, NBA's 65 Anniversary, and the 35th Anniversary of the NBA/ABA Merger :

Day-100, 4-22-11: 100-days until the start of NBHHCM. The day after President's Day (4-21-11), the NBHHCM Foundation is seeking to have a Presidential Proclamation signed by President Obama for NBHHCM 2K11 honoring the 65th Anniversary of the NBA being founded, and the 35th Anniversary of the NBA/ABA merger. The two anniversaries combined equal the number 100.

85th Day Countdown, 3-9-11: Rap legend Notorious B.I.G. died 14-years earlier on this day on March 9, 1997. Basketball star Shaquille O'Neal was a friend to Notorious B.I.G they recorded a single together (Can't Stop the Reign) on one of Shaq's album. 

76th Day Countdown, 3-18-11: The day after St. Patrick's Day marks 76-days until the start of NBHHCM 2K11.

65th Day Countdown, 4-3-11: the day between both Final Four games and the NCAA Championship game will mark 65-days until the 65th Anniversary date (6-6-46) of when the NBA was founded. It also marks 76-days until the 35th Anniversary date (6-17-76) of when the NBA/ABA merger was announced.

55th Day Countdown, 4-13-11: the NBA regular season comes to an end. The NBA playoffs start on April 16th. 55-days until the NBA turns 65.

30th Day Countdown, 5-8-11: Mother's Day. 30-days until the NBA turns 65.

8th Day Countdown, 5-30-11: Memorial Day the official start of Summer and 8-days until the the NBA turns 65,

NBHHCM 2K11, 6-1-11: The official start of NBHHCM 2K11 (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month). 6-days until the NBA turns 65.

5th Day Countdown, 6-2-11: The start of the 2011 NBA Finals and 5-days until the NBA celebrates its 65th Anniversary date of being founded (6-6-11)

Historic Day, 6-6-11: NBA's 65th Anniversary of being founded on Monday June 6, 2011.
