Despite losing first match and earlier one day series visting England test cricket team is enjoying their Indian tour. After their daily practice some of the players went out for shopping before the start of the second test match at Chandigarh, a north Indian city.
Amid tight security, English cricketers, divided into two groups, went to some international brand outlets in the Sector 17 shopping plaza here and among those who went on a buying spree were Andrew Strauss, Andrew Flintoff, Alastair Cook, Stephen Harmison, Monty Panesar, Owais Shah and Stuart Broad.
Escorted by the Chandigarh Police, players descended for shopping after spending some time at the Hotel Taj following their lengthy net session at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium at Mohali. "It's nice to go out for some window shopping. Moreover, we have some things to purchase," Strauss told reporters.
Surprised at the un-informed visit of the cricketers, a owner of an international brand showroom said, "It was a surprise visit by them. Normally we get intimation about aplayers arrival in advance." However, security personnel had to face a difficult time as hundreds of fans waited impatiently in front of the shopping plaza to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars.
