The excitement is growing as the date is getting closer. The champion's contender is a local fighter, making this event something special for the "paceños" My son works at the hotel where champion Florante Condes from Philippines is staying and has mentioned to me that he is quite a nice guy. As I was driving my son to work today I saw one of the boxers warming up at the malecon ( by the seashore) at 7 am. This is quite a small city, unfortunately I didn't have my camera or my cell phone! I hope I see him tomorrow.I will be ready.

IBF mini flyweight champion Florante Condes is winning thehearts of Mexican boxing fans through his modesty and fighting style ashis fight date with Mexico’s own Raul Garcia nears.According to a report by Philboxing.com Condes wowed theMexicans during Tuesday’s training at a local gym in La Paz, BajaCalifornia Sur, Mexico, where he displayed awesome hand speed andlateral skills.
"The fans were impressed with his power punch when thetrainer Danny Bactol worked with the punch mitts for 4 rounds, 10minutes jump rope and 3 shadow boxing," Condes' manager Dante Ortiz wasquoted as saying.
A Mexican report also said that the Filipino looked confident in going to this Saturday's fight with Garcia.
"The gymnasium was full of fans waiting for him and alongthe way they received him with applause. Dozens of fans took photoswith Florante for over 10 minutes, and he signed authograph[s] ongloves and fight posters," said the source.
