Florida's 31-20 victory over previously top-ranked Alabama coupled with Oklahoma's 62-21 win over Missouri on Saturday set up the likelihood of the Gators and Sooners meeting Jan. 8 for the Bowl Championship Series national title in South Florida.

The BCS standings will be released this evening at approximately 5:20 Pacific time.
The AP poll is no longer used in the BCS formula, but still crowns an independent champion. Florida earned 50 out of 65 first-place votes. Oklahoma is No. 2 in the AP rankings, but leads No. 3 Texas by only 10 points. That leaves open the longshot possibility that the Longhorns, who beat Oklahoma this year, might earn the AP crown if Oklahoma beats Florida. AP voters dropped Alabama dropped to No. 4 and USC remained at No. 5.
Oklahoma is the new No. 1 in the coaches' poll, but holds only a one-point lead over Florida, which moved up two spots from No. 4. Texas is No. 3 while Alabama and USC are tied at No. 4 with 1,309 points.
