After an eventful Italian race two weeks ago, this weekend Formula 1 returns to Asia for the Singapore Grand Prix.

Adding to the spectacle of seeing 24 of the world's fastest cars race around the streets of one of the world's most densely populated countries, the event will take place at night under more than 1,500 floodlights.

The humidity of the night air and the bumpy track surface make this one of the toughest races of the year for the drivers. It also will be one of the longest.

Singapore also has a very high statistical likelihood of a safety car deployment—100 percent in the first four races there.

Race promoter Singapore GP is delighted to announce that the 2010 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX is a sell-out.

All released tickets were sold out late on Thursday afternoon and the online ticketing service was shut down, although a few hundred tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis at selected gates around the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Friday morning.

These tickets were deliberately held back as a means of combating secondary ticket-selling and will be released for sale at 14.00 hours on Friday September 24 at major gates and at the main ticket sales centre at the Raffles City Convention Centre (RCCC) at Level 4. The breakdown of available ticket categories is as follows:

Turn 2 Grandstand: available at Gate Ticket Booths 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10 and RCCC

Stamford Grandstand: available at Gate Ticket Booths 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and RCCC

Padang Grandstand: available at Gate Ticket Booths 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and RCCC

Bay Grandstand: available at Gate Ticket Booths 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and RCCC
