Fran Tarkenton Comments: Packers Fans Should Burn Favre Jerseys

Former Minnesota Vikings great Fran Tarkenton continued his criticism of newly signed Vikings QB Brett Favre. Tarkenton told XM Sirius satellite radio that Packers fans should be "outraged" at Favre's signing with Green Bay's division rival.
Tarkenton said: "Wouldn’t you be upset if you're a Packer fan? I think you're going to have Packer fans burning the No. 4 Favre Green Bay jersey. I think the Packer fans have every right to be outraged."
Tarkenton also had this to say about Favre joining his old team: "It's an absolute circus and it takes away from all the other things that are going on with the Vikings, with the NFL. We’re getting ready for a football season and this is a circus and I just have no interest in it."
This isn't the first time that Tarkenton has blasted Brett Favre for his on-again off-again flirtation with the Vikes. Back in May, Tarkenton spoke to Atlanta's 790 The Zone and criticized Favre's departure from the Packers and his tenure with the Jets.

I am such a huge Packer's Fan....I used to love Brett Favre...thought of him as the perfect franchise player, hugely successful, hugely popular with the home crowd, hugely loyal to the Packer's and their fans, and perfect wife with a gripping story. Now I see him as another great sellout. Shouldn't I be happy with the many years he "gave" us? I don't think so because he wrecked many people's fantasy of loyalty. Does that sound like I'm whining? Too bad. Many Vikings fans will be thumbing their noses at us and singing the praises of Brett Favre like he's been their quarterback all along and they always loved him even when he was blowing them out game after game. Just watch the posts to purplepride.com (a Packer's bashing website) and you'll see what I mean...they basically say f@#k you Packer's fans...Brett Favre is their man and always has been at heart. Yeah right!! Just like an obsessed stalker would be finally getting a chance to date "her" object of desire. Well...I'm not bitter...I'd just like to say f@#k you Brett and as far as the Vikings and their loyal fans....I'm sure he'll be way more loyal to you than us Packer's fans...yeah right!! Oh...have I mentioned I'm not bitter?

Tarkenton, who played 13 years for the Vikings, said that the Favre saga has been a major distraction to the other Vikings and that Packers fans should be "outraged" to see their former QB playing for their division rivals. Strong words from Fran Tarkenton, especially since his old team will be laying out huge fast cash for Favre.

I heard <a href="www.google.com">Fran Tarkenton</a> talk about this on NFL radio and he convinced me to dislike Brett. What happened to loyalty??
