US defender Frankie Hejduk was slapped by Mexican assistant coach Paco Ramirez after the a 2-0 US victory at Columbus Crew Stadium.

The incident occurred as the two teams were walking off the pitch. According to Hejduk, he was cheering "F--k yeah!" after winning the game, but Ramirez thought he was saying "F--k you!" and slapped him.

The incident is yet another incident between the two teams, who have one of the most heated in rivalries in sports.

Hejduk was forgiving after the event, and said that Ramirez only gave him a "love tap."

This was such a cowardly and despicable act, I am very proud of Frankie being man enough to not sink to this loser's level and pop him one.

I hope FIFA does not let this guy Paco Ramirez get away with this non sense and fines him or get him off US soil forever.  This is assault damn it  !!!

Wow! the answer to losing is to beat up on the other players...that's so low and no-class...

In sports, high class is shown in your sportsmanship.  Look at Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson, Kareem, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Troy Aikman, Kurt Wagner, and I could go on and on.  They always showed such professionalism and sportsmanship.  You never saw them taunting, making fun of, or screaming the bad words (like Frankie Hejduk did to the Mexican players - F....k you) to the opponent when they won a match or a championship.  These men are good examples of what a good athlete should be.  Yes, what Paco Ramirez did shouldn't happen.  Nevertheless, what Frankie Hejduk did was not good sportsmanship and that was actually LOW and NO-CLASS... he deserved what he got!  It was reported Paco Ramirez went back to Hejduk to apologize.  That shows class and acknowledgement of your mistakes.  Hejduk initiated everything and just got smacked for it, that is what happened.

I watched that game and i could hear him yelling f*ck yeahh after the game was over. Sometimes the cameras get to close when the players start swearing and you can here it. He never said FU. He's not that type of guy.
