Norwegian skiier Fred Syversen unintentionally set a world record for cliff drops by successfully jumping 107 meters. Syversen was filming a ski movie in the Alps when he accidentally jumped off the wrong cliff, one that was much higher than he expected.

Syversen careened off the wrong cliff at a speed of 80 km per hour, but had the presence of mind to turn his body to avoid landing on some nearby rocks. He ended up landing in snow and was found by rescue workers buried in more than two meters of snow. He was unconscious, but essentially unharmed.

Syversen's drop shattered the previous record held by Jamie Pierre who completed a 75-meter jump.
