Latest Update: Nadal's Historic run has ended. He was 31-0 in the French Open, and clay court was his forte. Unfortunately, he loses and we will have to watch a French Open Final Without Nadal!

Check it out here:

Nadals Historic Run in Paris Ends

[The content below is now past]

The 2009 French Open has so far lived up to its promise to be another spectacular Grand Slam as Spaniard Rafael Nadal tries to win a record fifth consecutive title.

Nadal is also on the way to become only the second person after Rod Laver to have captured all the four Grand Slam titles in the same year. Rod Laver achieved the feat 40 years ago and the envious record that has stayed so long looks to being equalled by the swashbucking Spaniard.

Nadal has grown from strength to strength and has grown in stature since dethroning Federer from the No 1 spot.

Nadal is through to the fourth round of the Roland Garros where he will meet Robin Soderling of Sweden. This is after the current world No. 1 manhandled the former No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt, 6-1, 6-3, 6-1, on Friday.

The one question going through the minds of the Fans is how can the juggernaut called Rafael Nadal be stopped. Maybe we will be having one more of Nadal-Federer duel to settle it and with all due respect to Federer, Nadal seems the man of the moment and it seems very unlikely that he will be stopped en route to creating history.

He may do it. Another Boris Becker or Björn Rune Borg.

He is still young though.

Alas, Nadal won't be able to do it after losing in the fourth round. It will be strange watching a French Open final without him in it.

Yeah it has been a real shocker for Nadal! But the law of averages had to catch up with him....

Very unfortunate that Nadal is out. Indeed, very strange to envision the finals without him.

I watched the match and his performance was very strange.  He is a great player and I'm a great fan of both Nadal and Federer.  They are both great players and a very good for the game of tennis.  He's young and has plenty of time to break records.  So does Federer.  This is what makes sports so exciting there is always a chance for someone to beat the odds.

The commentators were completely unprofessional on national television. They were making fun of Soderling after the match saying he is wacky after he beat nadal. They should have more respect. And in general they talk too much. Replace them!!!
