Frisbee golf on Mt. Townsend in Olympic National Forest
Dateline, some time during the summer of '09 and the idea of expanding the disc golf course, into the National Forest. One starts on the trail-head, takes the frisbee out of the back pack and starts throwing up the mountain, Townsend that is. Trees create obstacles, greatly shortening drives until one breaks out above the tree-line. Therefore, reaching the summit is almost as anit-climatic compared to making distance drives with no trees to bounce off of!
Since putting up disc baskets would be obtrusive to the landscape, my spotter placed a ruck sack, any where from two hundred to two hundred and seventy-eight feet depending upon the challenge of the terrain. There is something to be said when man engages in sport, in the wild and have animals, stop what their doing, observe with wonder, and say to themselves, "I want the kind of life that allows that creature to bring their recreation into our backyard."
