A Key Departure for the MLS?

CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan will join Bayern Munich of the German Bundesliga on loan during the MLS off-season.

Donovan's loan began Monday and he is scheduled to return on March 8, two weeks before the Galaxy opens the season against D.C. United on March 22.

Donovan scored a career-high 20 goals last season to lead Major League Soccer, with nine assists in 25 games. He began his professional career with fellow German club Bayer Leverkusen.

His teammate, David Beckham, is currently on loan to AC Milan of the Italian League.

Read more about it here.  It tends to leave a person thinking Landon means to stay in the Bundesliga and this "loan" is merely his first step.  A sign of more transfers to come for the MLS?  Most tend to differ and the majority of MLS stars know a good thing when they see it and they'll be staying put.
