France dominated Scotland in their Six Nations opener, denying the Scotsmen even a single try. An auspicious beginning for France, who are entering the tournament with a new coach.

The light of the end of the tunnel many foresaw for Scotland's rugby team turned out to be an on-rushing train as a lacklustre performance brought a 6 - 27 defeat by new look France.

Man of the match Vincent Clerc scored two tries, one in each half, to hand Marc Lievremont immediate success in his first match as coach of France.
