For me this should not really be a news story because the world is made up of many people: black, white, and shades of gray. Diversity is what makes human beings great. However, one of the last bastions to come of the closet are Welsh rugby players, tough and often toothless, they are not supposed to have a feminine side. Then again, most of the truly buff people that I know are gay. Is that a generalization?

Gareth Thomas, a Welsh rugby player who has captained both

Wales and the British and Irish Lions, has come out as gay.

He says he decided to talk openly about his sexuality because he could no longer live a lie.

He tells the BBC's Robin Lustig that he hopes the revelation that he is gay will help break down stereotypes within sport.”

He is still one of my favourite players, I've  never stopped to consider the sexuality of any of the sports personalities, makes no difference to me........just play the game.

PS I still think Ireland will take the 6 nations this year!
