05/07/2010 Newark DE: George Mason Softball team Sweeps Doubleheader From The Blue Hens , Game One 5-0 and Game Two 5-4, In game one The Fighten Blue Hens defense couldn't keep up with George Mason. However the George Mason defense was magnificent helping to blank the blue hens 5-0. In game two Delaware struck first scoring 3 runs in the first inning, rocking George Mason Pitcher Miranda Cranford for three hits on three earn runs. in the forth inning George Mason came back with three runs of their own to tie the game at three all, However a costly error in the sixth inning proved to be delaware undoing losing 5-4. The Blue Hens, who dropped to 20-29-1 overall and 8-12 in the Colonial Athletic Association, were eliminated from contention for next week's conference tournament after James Madison defeated UNC Wilmington later in the day.

Mason improved to 20-24 overall and 8-12 in conference play. Delaware and George Mason close out their 2010 seasons on Saturday with a single game beginning at 12 noon at the Delaware Stadium. Prior the game The Blue Hen will Honor Seniors Cecile Egan, Michelle Kenny, Mary Ann Magee and Shanette White.
