Former US president George W. Bush got a little too close to the action during the May 23, 2011 game between the Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox.
During the game, George W. Bush nearly got hit by a foul ball. In the sixth inning of the Rangers-White Sox game, Adrian Beltre hit a high foul ball that came right near where Bush was sitting. White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski lunged at the ball as it landed near the president. Pierzynski couldn't get to the ball and neither could Bush, who appeared to consider making a catch but backed off at the last second.
After the game, A.J. Pierzynski was asked about the George W. Bush foul ball.
"I just told him just because he was the president doesn't mean I won't jump on top of him," Pierzynski said. "Him and his wife got a good chuckle out of that one."
The Rangers went on to defeat the White Sox 4-0.
