Georgetown-Bayi Rockets Fight Video: Hoyas Brawl Chinese Team
The Georgetown Hoyas Basketball Team Got Into a Bench-Clearing Brawl With the Bayi Rockets During a Game in China. Here is the Georgetown-Bayi Rockets Fight Video
The Georgetown mens basketball team recently played an exhibition match in China, no doubt a tune-up for the upcoming 2011-2012 college basketball season.
While should have been a fun trip overseas turned into an international incident as the Georgetown Hoyas got into a nasty brawl with players from the Bayi Rockets.
There were two bench-clearing brawls during the Georgetown game in China. According to a game report, the second brawl occurred after Bayi's Hu Ke fouled Georgetown’s Jason Clark, who retaliated by shoving Hu.
Players from benches ran onto the court and all hell broke loose: punches were thrown as were chairs. Some angry fans threw water bottles onto the court.
Georgetown coach John Thompson III ordered his team off the court.
Thompson said in a statement: “Tonight two great teams played a very competitive game that unfortunately ended after heated exchanges with both teams. “We sincerely regret that this situation occurred.”
