German and Hanover 96 Goalkeeper Killed
The world of football [soccer] has suffered a serious blow with the death of Robert Enke. Mr. Enke was a 32 year old goalkeeper for the German National Football [Soccer] Team as well as the world famous Hannover 96.
He has been suffering from an ailment which lead him to withdraw from the German National Team before its game against Azerbaijian. He has played with various teams such as Benfica, FC Barcelona, Borussia Monchengladbach, Carl Zeiss Jena, and Hannover 96.
Mr. Enke was also the recipient of many awards including runner up to the UEFA Europoean Football Championship as well as 2009 Best Bundesliga Goalkeeper. In spite of his success, his disease affected him to the point that he killed himself by jumping in front of a train in Neustatdt am Rubenberge.
He will be surely missed.

He was born in Jena German Democratic Republic in 1977. He played 195 Games for Borrusia Moenchen Gladbach. He played in Jena and then moved to Borrusia Moenchen Gladbach. From there he played in Spain for Benefica Lisbon, FC Barcelona and CD Teneriffa, before signing with Hanover 96.
The German National Side, which plays Chile on Saturday was shocked by the news.

I am so sorry to hear of Robert's death. My thoughts and our prayers go out to his family. Robert was well respected here in England as he was all over the World.
