In what was considered the biggest match in women's MMA history, Gina Carano took on Cristiane 'Cyborg' Santos of Brazil. 

The Gina Carano vs Cyborg fight was the first women's MMA match to headline an MMA pay-per event. In the end, Cyborg Santos won with a TKO at 4:59 of the first round.

Cyborg Santos largely dominated Carano, eventually winning the match with a series of blows on the ground. Carano took 15 unanswered strikes on her arms and to her face while on the mat. Referee Josh Rosenthal stopped the fight after Carano appeared to stop defending herself.

More than 13,000 fans attended the Strikforce event, one of the largest US crowds ever for a non-UFC MMA event.
