With a Presidential candidate debate tonite  AND a possible series clincher for Phillies's baseball fans.....  I think I know what most Philadelphians will be watching this evening, since most have already made up their minds who they are voting for.

Phillies fans are gearing up for the big game and have high hopes Wednesday night will be the night.

among those who'll be watching with fingers crossed is Mayor Nutter.

Mayor Nutter has his sports clichés all queued up:

"Any baseball person will tell you, you play one game at a time."

And he won't discuss league championship party plans until its a done deal:

"I'm hopeful that our guys will do it.  But whatever happens, certainly we're supportive of the Phillies, we want to encourage them, and hopefully they'll go and wrap up the national league title very soon."

Meantime aides to the mayor released details of who gets tickets to the mayor's sky box seats not only at the Phillies games but also at the Linc and other venues.

Roughly a third go to youth groups and non-profits, a third to city employees including police officers, and a third to elected officials including city council.

Game 5 starts at 8:22pm. (Eastern Standard Time)

Here's another perspective:

The choice is simple: I won’t be tuning in for either.

If the Phils win tonight, that’s all anyone will be talking about in the coming days.

And that means even more Phillies experts discussing “what WE need to do to win the World Series.”

WE?

As for the elections, CNN and Fox News will distill it down into soundbites for me on Thursday morning.

And I totally trust the media when it comes to getting my political information.

So, I’ll probably just do what I usually do … try and tune everything out, listen to the iPod, meditate and just pretend all this nonsense doesn’t really exist.
