Gold Olympic medal holder and World 100 and 200 metre record holder Usain Bolt has been admitted to hospital today, following a car accident, where he sustained minor injuries.

He was admitted to hospital on advice from doctors, but it is thought he only has three thorns stuck in his feet that need to be pulled out and treated. He is due to be released soon.

It is not known if it will keep him from competing as he is supposed to compete in the Jamaica Invitational this Saturday.

Bolt's car had been travelling into Kingston from Clarendon the accident occurred. The road was slippery from afternoon showers.

When this reporter arrived upon the scene at approximately 2:30 pm the BMW car was being towed from the ditch.

The airbags deployed in the car, but there was no blood, but both windscreens were smashed.

The only injury he had was thorns in his feet? Whose car was he driving??? The Flinstones?

Haha - I know! I'm wondering if it might have been when he stepped out of the car as it was in a ditch. If I see the answer, I'll post it here.

His car went off the highway and flipped over in bushes. He reportedly picked up the thorns in his foot as he tried to get out of the damaged car.
