The 2009 BC Golden Gloves are scheduled for May 9 and 10th. in Richmond, BC.  The host club is the "Lights Out Boxing Club".

This will be 70 years since the first B C Golden Gloves tournament was held in Vancouver in 1939.  The first champions were Ken Lindsay, Henry Devine, Bob Hickey, Eric Burnell, Phil Vickery, Alan Dunn, and Wayne Morris.

During 1940 to 1945, competition was reduced with no tournament in 1943. But,  the action roared back in 1946 with a two day tournament at the Hastings Park Forum on February 14th. - 15th..  Some of the names to remember from the 1946 tournament include Golden Boy, Norm Delaire of the C.Y.O. boxing club and Victoria boxer Vic Murdoch.

The doctor officiating these fights is involved in a huge scandal. His name is Dr. Rondeau and it is alleged he is taking part in a cover up of medical evidence relating to a major lawsuit. Hell the proof is there already its just getting it to the public to see. This doctor is a terrible person and should be no where near this kind of event.
