We don't know how this became a thing, but it did. Some fan shouted "Good job, good effort" at the Miami Heat after their Game 5  loss to the Boston Celtics on June 5, 2012. As the Heat left the court after Game 5 of the 2012 NBA Eastern Conference Finals, TV cameras caught a young fan shouting "good job, good effort" at the Heat as they made their way to the locker room.
For some reason, fans on Twitter had a field day with the "good job, good effort" comment. Something about a kid trying to cheer up a bunch of sullen millionaires struck people as hilarious
Who is the Good Job, Good Effort Kid?


We don't know yet, but it's only a matter of time before his identity is revealed. We have a feeling that an internet meme has been born.
