INDUCTEES for 2011 Announced:
The Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame has recently announced the Inductees for 2011 as follows:

Oak  Bay Tennis Club, Bob Bolitho (Athlete Soccer), Gail Archibald (Athlete Softball), Gary Johnston ( Builder Rugby), Roland Green (Athlete Cycling),  Max Low (Sports Media), and 1974/75 London Boxing Club Soccer Team.
Induction Ceremony is expected to be held on October 29 at thePacific Institute for Sports Excellence.

With days to go, it will be an interesting evening for the induction ceremony following the video stories of each inductee from sprts media category with MAX LOW    to the soccer selections of  BOB BOLITHO and the 1974/75 London Boxing Club  Soccer Team.  It is always interesting following the history of the various clubs such as the "Oak Bay Tennis Club".

Of interest the London Boxing &Athletic Club that started in the early Sixties had it's last major even in June 1976 and effectively on August 31, 1976 the club was replaced by the "Victoria Athletic Association"  which continued to sponsor many teams and different sports including soccer, hockey, basketball, slow pitch and boxing.
